Hi. I was a first time cruiser along with my sister. We took our cruise for our 40th b/day. We read tons of reviews both good and bad and the so-so. BUT you can't let that stop you from trying a cruise or a vacation destination etc. You can't always believe what you read. If you do and you don't experience for yourself, then you will never know what anything is like. So with that, we dissed the bad reviews, booked our cruise and we're booked on another one this fall via Carnival. We are so glad we didn't listen to the bad reviews. O/wise we would have never known how much fun cruising is. And to us, its the best way to travel!

Ok, reviews. Let's start with Miami port. Nice port, beautiful views of the Palm trees (as I love those) and the gorgeous ships. The porters were more than willing to help and very polite and our luggage yes made it onboard. Ok, second embarking. Easy, a breeze. Yes lines but that's expected. If you have all your documents in order, you sail right through. Oh and don't believe what you read, you need your passport. Yes, for the US Ports..like closed loop cruises its not required BUT don't let that deceive you. What if you have to change routes and go into International waters...your going to find yourself in a jam OR you have to fly home and have to detour via International waters...again your in a jam. SO DO YOURSELF a favor and DON'T RUIN your vacation when your denied boarding OR in a jam trying to get home..get that passport. Its not that expensive when you think of the dollars divided per year.

Ok, debarking....a breeze. Yes long lines but moves fast. U have plenty of time to eat b/fast in the morning, so take your time. U can even order room service. Ok let's get to the important stuff.

Cabin Review

Great balcony. Closets decent size. Plenty of hangers. Plenty of drawer space. No complaints on the cabins. Our table mates had an inside cabin and they are fine too. Yes tiny but that's to be expected for an inside. If your not of a large size and are not claustophic, then an inside cabin is the best way to go. I did like the balcony lock being up high away from a child's reach. That's very important! I did love the quietness of the balcony, the privacy and the table and chairs outside. The inside cabin that our table mates have are just like the balcony with the closet space, the hangers, the drawer space.
