We boarded the Sea Princess in Port Everglades and sailed through the Panama Canal to San Francisco. Overall it was an excellent cruise. It was HOT & HUMID but we expected that for May.

We had traditional first seating dining. Every dinner was outstanding. In many cases the choices were very difficult as so many of the soups and first courses were terrific. The entrees were equally as great and always perfectly prepared. We had planned to go to the specialty steak house one night but the food in the dining room was so good we didn't see the need. We have been on many Princess cruises and the food on the Sea Princess was as good if not better than other ships we have been on.

In the morning the Burger grill made Belgian waffles. This was a really nice addition to the Horizon court buffet. We never had dinner at the Buffet but frequently had breakfast and lunch there. It was OK -- nothing out of the ordinary. The Burger grill was great as was the soft-serve Ice cream bar. It was good to see that Princess stopped charging extra for ice cream outside of the dining room. Now they just need stop charging extra for fountain soda. The Pizza cafe was a separate restaurant and more formal than on other ships. I like it better when it's possible to just get a slice out by the pool. The guest speakers were terrible. They were boring, dry, and had very little relevant information. The person who did the port lectures was especially bad giving little or no current details on the ports we were going to visit. The Astronomer was a bit better but not much. The only good speaker was the 2nd officer who did an excellent talk on the bridge operations.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Excellent Balcony and location in the middle of the ship. Pleanty of closet space but they need update the hangers. Bed was very comfortable.
