Flew direct from London Heathrow to Seattle on Thursday 20th May. Collected by Courtesy coach and brought to Airport Marriott in Seattle. Wonderful comfortable hotel, beautiful food and fantastic beds (well appreciated after long flight) Escorted by coach next morning to Harbour for boarding the Rhapsody at 11am. I have never experienced disorganisation like embarkation in Seattle. It took nearly 5 hours of queuing in not very pleasant surroundings with stewart's who were far from helpful.Felt very sorry for elderly passengers and those with young children, there was little appreciation for their discomfort! The Rhapsody looked majestic from a distance but as we boarded we could see she is getting tired and in need of a refit, this is evident throughout the ship. Our cabin an large outside was well presented with ample room, clean and airy. Our stateroom stewart was Elmer, always welcoming, pleasant, and did a wonderful job. The Rhapsody has 2 eating areas Windjammer which is buffet style dining, and the Eidlehouse which is the main dining area.Service in both area's is wonderful waiting staff on the Rhapsody are First Class, ever attentive and topping up your glass, and removing used plates etc. Food in general is fair, the selection is limited and is never really hot, this is the case in both eating venues. We were disappointed with the quality of the food as it was tasteless because it tasted as if it was reheats left to cool. We bought our shore excursions at the docks where we arrived (nearly 50% cheaper than the ships prices and easily bought) Scenery is mind-blowing and the scene of Alaska is fabulous. This is a fantastic cruise, looked forward to it for ages and all my expectations were exceeded. All in all we had a fantastic cruise and our disappoints with the ship stem from our previous experiences on newer bigger cruisers. Disembarkation was easy and well organised, full credit to ships crew on this . Only crew members we found unpleasant were the security staff. Courtesy and good manners are always appreciated when dealing with those who pay your wages, this particular section let the rest of the crew down badly. Entertainment was good and well varied. the bars lack athmospher and were empty as a result.

Cabin Review

Cabin out

Well appointed stateroom, pity no fridge, roomservice was terrible and twice did not deliver at all, usual time nearly an hour for a pot of Coffee, ridiculous!!!

Elmer was our cabin stewart and he is a diamond he could give personality class's to a lot of your other members(Security in particular)
