This was my second cruise, and second time with Carnival. There were four people total in my party, and we had a wonderful time!
Pre-Embarkation: There are a number of hotels in the area that offer free parking for a the week if you stay with them the night before the cruise. We stayed at the Hampton Inn North Charleston, and they got us to the port quickly enough the day we left to be among the first people in line.
Embarkation: We had no trouble getting through the line and onto the ship. The Charleston terminal is small, and shows it's age. Despite that, we had a simple and painless journey through the building. We brought four bottles of wine on with us, and aside from making sure the bottles were sealed, we passed through without a problem.
This room has pull down bunks in the wall to sleep four adults. We chose to have the double bed remain a double for sleeping, so one couple could be together at night. It made late night trips to the bathroom a bit of an adventure, but we felt it was worth it.
You can tell you're in the back of the ship. Two nights we had some rough seas and we really swayed. If you are prone to seasickness, but need a room that sleeps more than two, book early and get one closer to the middle.
