First time cruise for both my husband and I. We both enjoyed the experience very much, excepting a couple of minor irritations. First, we had a cabin very near the elevators and the singing and music from the lobby show could be heard through the walls. To make matters worse, the night maid every night would park outside OUR cabin door and laugh and talk very loudly with passing guests. The cabins are in desperate need of some sound proofing! This wouldn't have been much of a problem if my husband and I were night people and out and about on the ship, but we'd been through the wedding just the week before and were in search of some R&R on our honeymoon. I don't think Carnival takes relaxation into much account, which is unfortunate. Also, the constant updates from Butch the cruise director over the PA were ANNOYING! If we want to find out what's going on the cruise we can look at the schedule or flip on the tv. There's no need to interrupt a nap or a some quiet time to tell us about the stupid hairy chest contest.

We ate in the dining room every night because it was always a nice break from the buffet lines and it was nice to sit down and be served after an exhausting day of shore excrusions. The food was always very good and beautifully prepared. The service was good for the most part but could be spotty at times. My husband and I didn't have an assigned table and were placed in different parts of the dining room throughout the cruise. There was one waiter that seemed to show prefference to his "regulars", but I guess that's to be expected. We had a reservation for Harry's but decided to cancel as we didn't feel we were missing out on anything in the regular dining room.

The weather for our cruise was wasn't the best - It rained the entire day we stopped at Grand Turk, which is unfortunate because the beach looked beautiful. We did the horseback riding excruision that day and still had a lot of fun. The staff at the stable was very nice and made sure everyone had a good time.

Cabin Review

Can hear lobby show in the room - usually ends around 10 or 11 pm, but still annoying.
