Sail Date: May 2010

We were really looking forward to our cruise on board Thomsons new 'Flag ship' The Dream which left Palma on Tuesday 11th May 2010.

On arrival, I was disappointed to observe that this 'new' addition to the Thompson fleet looked decidedly shabby with dented exterior and visible rust. I am of the view that the publicity material is somewhat misleading. I was mistakenly looking forward to holidaying on board Thomsons new ship, only to discover that it was 'new to Thomsons' and was in fact over 25 years old! However, this was nothing compared to the problems that we were to experience during our two week cruise.

On embarkation I detected a slightly unpleasant aroma and asked the couple with whom we were holidaying if they had noticed it too, which they had. Not put off, we made our way to our cabins which were very clean, spacious and well equipped and we commenced our holiday with great excitement and expectation.
