First and foremost, please keep in mind that my wife and are experienced cruisers with over 27 cruises between us on most of the mainstream cruise lines lines including Carnival, Princess, Norwegian, Disney, and Royal Caribbean. This cruise was our very first experience on Celebrity and, for the most part, the entire cruise exceeded our expectations! The following review is based on our personal opinion.

From the very start, the new (and massive) "Oasis" terminal in Port Everglades allowed for a very smooth and fast embarkation process...less than 30 minutes from arrival to stepping onboard the ship.

The Solstice itself is a beautiful ship and a fitting flagship for Celebrity's new class of vessels. Although there were some areas, such as handrails, that were showing some wear after enduring many months of harsh elements since her launch...the crews were busy all week long refinishing sections of railing, etc. The "Lawn Club" was such a beautiful and unique concept! There is just something special about walking barefoot on a cool lawn while watching the ocean slip by. The many public areas were well maintained and beautifully appointed. The artwork and decor throughout the ship really captured the essence of the "natural" and environmental theme.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2B

Cabin 2B

Our balcony cabin was well appointed. Despite a very noticeable reduction in closet space, we managed to find room for a weeks worth of clothes for two. The cabin layout, lighting, artwork, interactive television, and bathroom with solid shower door provided a very positive and "above average" look and feel to our accommodations. For anyone who has ever stubbed their toe or been blinded by bright cabin lights in the middle of the night, the subtle nightlight in the bathroom was an unexpected but much appreciated feature. The ability to dim the cabin lights was also a plus. This particular cabin is just steps away from the main elevators. Although you can hear many of the bands perform in the atrium once you leave the stateroom, once the door to the cabin closes it is very quiet.
