My husband and I, both retired, have been on quite a few cruises and talked with several of our friends about the possibility of taking a cruise together. Altogether we were a party of 10, ready to have a good time. We all have different interests so even though we flew together from Tampa, Florida, once we got to the ship we planned to do some things together and go our separate ways the rest of the time.
Embarkation was quick and painless and in no time after landing in LA we went to our rooms and then all met on the Lido deck for a bite to eat or maybe I should say bites to eat and then walked on the Promenade deck as we left the port in LA.
The ship was very clean and beautifully decorated, our room was very comfortable, and the beds comfy. The staff as a whole was extremely courteous and truly seemed interested in making our cruise the best ever. Our room steward, Allan, went out of his way to help us as my husband is disabled.
We were on the Emerald deck, cabin E617, we wanted one with a window. We were told it had an obstructed view but we saw just fine. There was plenty of room for all of our clothing, plenty of closet, drawer and cabinet space. Bathroom small, but you don't spend a lot of time in there anyway, so that didn't affect our opinion of the ship's accommodations. Our bed was very comfortable and we able to regulate the temperature in the room. All in all, one of the nicest cabins we have been in on any ship.
