The Thomson Dream is described as a 5 Star Luxury Cruiser. From a distance it looks it. Get up closer and you can see the battle scars that this ship has suffered, before a paint job by Thomson. I am not going to reiterate the details by previous reviews, suffice to say that they are all correct. I returned from the cruise yesterday 25th May 2010. This is nowhere near a five star ship,it struggles in my view to reach 4 Stars.

Problems on board should have been sorted out before this ship was put back to sea. The stench from defective toilet systems permeates through the ship and face masks are required to get away from it. Water leaks in the plumbing system creates water patches on most of the carpeting and on nearly every deck you can see where the leaks have been. On most decks a lot of the time you can see mechanics entering cabins to rectify defects of which there are plenty.

Customers beware if you are an All inclusive customer. All inclusive does not mean what it sounds. Most branded spirits you have to pay for. Simple still water, the staff of life you have to pay for if you fetch it from the bar or collect it to take with you when you go on excursions. Alcohol is free in abundance but not water. All of these things go onto your on board account which is payable at the end of your cruise. Be aware, make sure you double check your bill, entries appeared on peoples final bills which they had not purchased. I personally was charged for water when I was not on board. All in all the cruise was ok and that's about it. Having mentioned all of theses negative aspects, there are a few positive ones. Without the friendliness of the staff the ship would be nothing.
