Wow, I am still in recovery mode from a long and wonderful vacation. I spent months and months (7 to be exact) planning with 4 other couples about where to go and what to do. We finally decided on the Western Caribbean out of Tampa on the Legend. What a good decision it was. We finally made it to Tampa and stayed at the Sheraton River walk. It was a nice, clean, comfortable hotel and a good way to start our vacation. They had a free shuttle that took us to the cruise port the next morning which was not to far from there. Once we got there check in was just about as long as what you would expect at the airport on a steady day (40 minutes). Once on the ship I took a bit of time to walk around and get familiar with the lay out which was pretty easy. Then had some lunch on the Lido deck at the buffet it was good, but not great. Rooms were ready pretty quickly and very clean, never once did we have a problem with our room steward, we never even saw him the entire trip all we knew was that somehow our room was magically clean every time we came back from activities (twice a day). There was always something to do, weather it was going to a bar/lounge, or seeing a show, or sitting by the pool/hot tub (only complaint about the pool is there are chair hogs who save seats using one flip flop and never come back to their chair and there are people who want to use them and get stuck with out a spot.) We were never board. And when not on the ship and at port, there was always something to do there as well. We had excursions planned for every port so we didn't have to worry about what to do there, but there were plenty of people on shore selling excursions if you didn't book prior to getting there. There were so many cute trinket shops with something for every ones taste. If there wasn't really anything to complain about except for one thing. THE FOOD on the ship. I had some food that was ok, but that was easy for me to deal with. I didn't want to let that one thing get me down since the rest of my vacation was perfect. But for my husband who has a gluten intolerance and many other allergies he suffered pretty horribly. They did try to accommodate him, but sometimes they tried to hard. His body is pretty sensitive to change in diet so all he wanted was the same thing every night and the lady trying to help him would pressure him into things he just didn't want. One night they brought him a desert and he didn't want to be rude and waste it, so he ate it and knew right away he would be sick the next day from it, and he was. That is his own fault for eating it when he knew he would get sick, but they really should have just listened to him when he said he eats the same thing every night on the ship and at home. The thing we found out was that the main dining room for dinner and the buffet at lunch was the only times he could eat. There was nothing for breakfast for him to eat. On days we were in port he would come back to the ship starving and he would have to wait till the any time dinning would start so he could get something to eat. Well over all This trip was great and I would do it again, as for my husband I am not to sure. Vacation is about lots of things and food being one of the things, so for him I think we might have to find a cruise made for ceoliac disease/ Gluten intolerant people.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8B

I stayed in cabin 4160 on the Legend. This cabin was very clean. The bathroom was a bit small but not too small. the balcony was perfect with no obstructions. We were right near the elevators which was very convenient it was never noisy, we never heard anything through the walls the only thing that was annoying was that when the people in the cabin above would go out to there balcony their door would slam shut and wake me up all the time. They were in and out constantly and our room would shake.
