Mariner of the seas is a beautiful ship. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. We stayed in inside rooms on deck 6. The rooms were nothing fancy but had a great location to royal promenade.
embarkation- absolutely painless. very well organized. total process took less than 25 minutes.
food- yes it is not as good as the old days, but we enjoyed main dining room and windjammer. Some nights selections were definitely better than others.
ports of call- we enjoyed them all. many activities to choose from and always felt very safe.
Not to be missed: ice show, ice skating, love and marriage show, comedians were great, poolside activities. could be skipped: quest, singers and dancers,
We spent hours playing shuffle board. The five of us had a great time on deck four. Overall, the cruise ship is very clean. Maintenance is constantly working. Very impressive. The trip coming home from Mexico to San Pedro was very rough. Very difficult to be outside on last sea day. Winds were 40-50 mph. Cruise Director Kieron did excellent job having many activities inside to keep everyone entertained.
