Embarkation: We took a bus from Hartford to Bayonne, which was very convenient for us. Finding the port, parking, etc. were not a problem, as the bus driver knew exactly where to go. Porters at the dock took our luggage so we didn't have to carry it on with us. Since we were in a suite, we were able to check in very quickly.

Cabin: Room 6145 - We really liked how large our room was. Be aware that the chairs in the room looked very worn, and one in particular was tattered. The furniture needs updating. But everything else in the room was fine. The huge bathroom was fantastic, with double sinks, a bathtub, and a large shower. There was plenty of storage room under the vanities. But there was only one outlet in the bathroom, and that was for a shaver. Our balcony was roomy with a large table, 2 chairs, and 2 loungers, with room to walk around. We had most of our breakfasts on our balcony. Our butler, Jonathan, was very accommodating, without being intrusive. He got us everything we asked for, like cappuccinos and tarts in the afternoon.

Condition of the Ship: The Summit is not a fancy ship like the Explorer of the Seas that we had gone on. I call it "understated elegance." The carpeting on the ship seemed to be in very good condition. The only thing that could be improved on, in my opinion, is the pool area. It was just very plain. But it was clean, with the staff shining everything constantly. Other than that, I thought the ship was on good order.
