We flew to Rome three days prior to our 12-day cruise on the Navigator of the Seas (April 24). This was not enough time...it should be at least a week. Rome is a magnificent city with much to offer. We will most definitely go back. We took the Termini train to Civitavecchia, Italy, which is about 45 minutes northwest of Rome. That was a very pleasant trip. After we arrived, it took about a 20 minute walk to reach the port (walked to port entrance then RCCL bus took us to the ship check-in).

Our first port of call was Naples, Greece. There was graffiti and rubbish everywhere downtown. The graffiti was also on the monuments. So sad to see this. We visited the Pompei ruins (RCCL excursion) and the ruins were absolutely fascinating and very clean. Our tour guide was exceptional.

The second port was Rhodes, Greece. We walked into town as it was just a short distance from the ship. What a beautifully clean city! It is inside castle walls, which was amazing! The local vendors were very friendly and not pushy at all. We had a Greek lunch at a local restaurant and enjoyed the atmosphere. This is the place to get souvenirs, liquor, jewelry, etc.

Cabin Review

Nice balcony stateroom, kept very clean by Mariano, our attendant. Great view of all ports in the Med. We overslept every day as it was so quiet and the bed was so comfy.
