What can I say about this cruise except that it was wonderful. What a great ship the Celebrity Eclipse is.
We had previously been on the RC Independance of the seas and had now decided to try a Celebrity ship for a change so the 4 day cruise was ideal for this. We booked a GTY Balcony but were upgraded to Aqua class, now this was really spoiling us. We had use of the Blu Restaurant and the Persian garden , these were restricted to Aqua class staterooms at no additional cost. We had thought that we would not get these extras as we were upgraded.
We had breakfast every day in the Blu restaurant, dinner on only one evening and used the main dining room at all other times as we had friends in another class of cabin and we choose to be together in the evenings. Lunch was in either the main dining room or the buffet. At all times service was excellent and food of a high standard. Nothing was too much trouble in any restaurant , bar etc.
Would we go on another Celebrity cruise, you bet !!!! well done Celebrity.
Visit to Cobh Ireland
We have been to this port several times , both by cruise ship and whilst on holiday. We enjoyed the Titanic museum and the Cathedral. My husband enjoyed the Guiness!!!
We have previously taken the train into Cork but this time we hired a car and visited Kinsale the first day we arrived , then to Blarney the next day. The house was open in Blarney so we booked a tour round the house and a visit to kiss the stone, quite scary when you get to do this.
Good value car hire for 6 persons we paid 95 Euros with two drivers and 15 Euros for fuel. Entry into Blarney 10.50 Euros each to cover castle, house and grounds.
