Background Information - Hi again! We are a mother and daughter from Chicago and St. Louis and this was our first trip to Europe. This review will detail our experiences on the second leg of our back to back cruise. Check out our previous review for more information on our first week at sea.

The volcano - The volcanic eruption in Iceland and subsequent ash cloud made it impossible for many, many passengers to meet the ship by sail away time. Royal Caribbean originally announced it would delay our departure for 24 hours to allow more people to get to the ship. As a consequence of this delayed departure our scheduled call to Kusadasi would be cancelled. However, during the evening it became apparent that people would not be able to get to Venice due to airport closings and travel difficulties. On Sunday morning, we heard an announcement that we would, in fact, be leaving Venice about 9 am and would be able to make ALL of our scheduled ports although a bit differently than originally planned. While our hearts went out to those whose cruise vacations were turning into an unimaginable catastrophe, we rejoiced at our own turn of fortune to be able to sail immediately. Activities - One advantage for us was more "down time" this second week since the shows and activities were for the most part repeats of the first week. This allowed us to relax a bit more than the first week when we didn't want to miss a thing!

Port & Shore Excursions - Please see details of our excursions below. I have listed the ports of call in the order we actually saw them. We took advantage of the shuttle offered in Dubrovnik.
