We did a back to back cruise, firstly to France then to Ireland. Weather in France was good, but cloudy and rain in Ireland, fairly smooth water, hardley noticed any movement. The ship is lovely, it has a very chilled out atmosphere, unlike the Royal Carribean ships which are a bit more lively. There was not a lot of activities during the day, but we liked the quizzes. The top deck has a grass lawn and smells lovely when its cut, where you can play croquet, bowls, hoopla, all very pleasant if the weather is nice. Our cabins were lovely and room service was good. The service in the restaurant first cruise was ok, but second half really slow. Food was nice, nothing outstanding though, we did not eat in the dining room every night. Food in Ocean cafe was hit and miss, mostly cold and had to be sent back by several customers, also manic at peak times, and they were slow with clearing the tables, which meant on a few occasion we had to wait for a table - being so many of us. It was open till early hours of the morning serving pizza if you got peckish later. The outside pool was heated, but it was too cold second cruise to sit outside. Indoor pool in the spa seemed cooler, which was full to capacity on cold days, so we had to wait until it cleared late afternoon - or get there early! Juccuzi's are quite small and we just about fitted in one all together. The entertainment was not brilliant, the ventriloquist was the best act, and the quartet who sang the Jersey boys was fab. The frontliners were also a very good band, which we saw most nights in the sky bar each evenings, as there was not much choice. The martini bar waiters were very entertaining and the casino was good. Overall we all had a nice time as a family and had some lovely photos taken to bring back. We would probably go back with celebrity, having had a bad experience with Royal carribean last time, but you could get value for money elswhere on other ships.
