Crown Princess April 24-May 1, 2010 Western Caribbean

I love writing reviews that would be helpful to those going on the same ship or out of the same port. This was our first cruise on Princess in a long time and our 25th cruise; 6th on Princess. Our preference is Royal Caribbean, but after the "Mexican Riveria - Swine Flu Cruise" last year and the way we were treated after the cruise, we wanted to try a different line.

Hotel: We stayed at the Embassy Suites Fort Lauderdale. The rate was just under $200. Out of the back of the hotel (100 yards) is a grocery store, shops, restaurants, liquor store, etc. I like Embassy Suites in that they have a great free breakfast, free drinks, a great swimming pool, and large rooms. They did not have a free shuttle, but they do have a van service for $7.00 per person. On the day of embarkation we could see all of the ships from our small deck off the back of the hotel. We left for the port about 10:30 AM.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin ME

Crown Princess (Mini Suite):

The room was nice with excellent lighting. The room was fantastic with a comfortable bed, full sofa, a deck with 4 chairs, two flat screen TVs, and a large bathroom with a tub. Two small items bothered me and one was fixed the next morning. Princess uses a bottom sheet, but not a top sheet. They use a top sheet quilt. We asked and received a top sheet the next day. The other item was the center crack between the two mattresses. It would separate about 1"-3" so one of us would get our foot or arm stuck in the crack. I had never had that problem on other ships. One classy thing I really like about Princess, is the names on the door mail box. If we were visiting another cabin, we would know exactly who was in the room.
