Such a pretty..Tower of Babel Ship!

Sail Date: April 2010
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Embarkation we very well, right on the ship. ship is clean and was kept clean all week, staff is diligent wiping and paining. we left about an hour after we were supposed to every launch... we we very timely getting to our ports. you will not go to playa del carmen. they said the water was rough so they are taking us to cozomel. they have done this every time. the water was very calm. i think the truth is cozomel is more inviting or easier or whatever so dont book exursions at this stop till your on the ship and they verify.

food was interesting. you could find something to eat usually, but nothing spectacular. meat salad..? good but every night?.. deserts i did not care for. the ice cream on the pool deck was good, but they shut them down at 5:30. as a matter of fact they shut everything down early. if your butt isnt in a chair at 5:30 it gets stacked and racked. i understand at 8 or 9 when people are eating, but if you want to sit back and watch us leave a port in a chair, More get there before they pack them away. my biggest gripe! My kids triead all week to get a basket ball. they have a tennis court and bball goal, but no bball. someone found one half way through the cruise, but they wanted it back by 5:30 and it was never seen again. byob bring your own ball...

For the ship self proclaimed being "green" it sure does waste cups. they give you shot glasses for breakfast juice, then when everyone takees 4 or five to get enough they bring out the plastic disposables. also, coffee cups, the first 100 got a regular cup, and the rest got styrofoam cups. not green. please invest in some more cups MSC!

The spa is realy great. dont prebook. its pricy. they will work a deal. they did a half off thing the last day and my wife and i made out like a bandit. it was the best facial and message ever!last is this is really the cruise line for europeans to see the carribean. i bet there were 200 americans on the ship tops. the language barrier reminded me of the tower of babel. the price got me and the family on the cruise line plus 5 ports in 7 days. but the language barrier and the customer service will keep me off the ship... Less

Cozumel: cabby 5 buck a person to chukkanab park..(sp?) its like $19 to get in a person. pricy. we got a driver for the day he took us and worked the price down, he waited there for us. (16 of us) and gut us a group rate to get in. the park is nice. rent snorkel stuff for 10 or swim with dolphins for 150 or kiss the dolphins for 100. beach beast for snorkeling not really swimming. steps lead into water, not sand

Grand Cayman sting ray and snorkel is the way to go. everyone takes you to the same place, so when you get off you can barter with the people to get to the location. we snorkeled about 100 yards from there too. you have to do this, water is warm, and the experience is amazing.

Key West : we portred at the navy peir, had to shuttle into town. its free. you are not allowed to walk off the ship. military stuff. we walked the island, saw the southern most point. did the shops, did the hemmingway house tour. it was worth it. no need to do excursions, walk and do your own thing and enjoy the keys disease, where putting on your flip flops is a hassel..

Jamaica: headed to chukka zip line. the jungle is maazing. the huge fig trees and hugr lizards. the people make this trip. everyone is fun and funny. the zippin is fun, the better zip line has a 1600 footer at the end. we had 6 zips with a 1100 ending.

Nassau: we walked to the public beach. its called junkit or something like that. about a half mile to the right when you get off the ship. free... its fair. water was cold. went in april. we then did some shopping the walked to the queens staircase and saw the fort. really all there is to do unless you take a cab to atlantis and pay out the big bucks
