We have just returned from our Mediterranean Dream cruise aboard Thomson Dream, and having done 7 cruises over the past 2 years, this has got to be the WORST cruise we have ever been on, from start to finish. I am sure, I am speaking on behalf of everyone on this ship, as I am sure there was not one single happy person on board.

This cruise was supposed to be the launch of their newly acquired ship or as they describe it "the pride of the fleet" and "Thomson Dream. It's our biggest and most luxurious ship yet. It goes without saying that it comes with the Thomson stamp of quality - food that scores top marks, service that really goes that extra mile and entertainment that ranges from Broadway-style shows to late-night discos".

The problems all started at the airport. Having checked in, and waited in the departure lounge, the boarding was set on time. Everyone arrived at the Boarding gate at 06.40am, only to be told 10 mins later that, due to technical reasons, the plane was now not going to depart till 9am and for us all to go back to the departure lounge (some 15-20mins walk away) till the plane was ready for boarding. Most of the people left the boarding gate as instructed. About 5 minutes later 3 members of crew arrived and before going on board turned to the boarding staff and informed them that boarding can commence in 5 mins. No announcement was made to get everyone back to the gate, but boarding started anyway, which meant that a lot of people had ordered meals, drinks etc in the departure lounge and had to leave them to get back to the gate so we could leave on time (we actually finally left 1 hr late).

Cabin Review

The outside cabins on deck 6 were large and spacious, which we were very pleased to see, but it is such a pity nothing worked in them. The rooms consisted of a large double bed, a large settee, large dressing table, small coffee table, double wardrobe, and extra hanging and drawer space. Very Adequate.
