We were traveling, my husband and myself, with our two nieces, 18 and 15, and this would be their first cruise. I was especially concerned that we would not be able to make our ports of call, but it seems the time the Destiny was in dry dock, they managed to fix the problems.

We arrived in Miami in the mid-afternoon and took a taxi to the ship ($34.00 with tip). Everyone else seemed to have arrived before us so we wisked through everything and got to our room; spent some time on the Lido Deck and they just rested for a bit.

We chose the dining at any time and it was wonderful. Having been to early seatings and late seatings, choosing your own time is so great. You never feel rushed to get back to the ship when you are in port, and days at sea can be enjoyed taking in the sun for as long or as short as you want. I think this is a great move by Carnival. We seemed to always go to dinner around 7:15 p.m. so we caught the servers entertainment for the early seating dining each night which was nice.

Cabin Review

Our cabin - 9198 and our nieces's cabin 9196 were fabulous. Sabastioni and Mede were wonderful - very friendly and helpful. It is great to be on the 9th floor as the Lido Deck is right there and you can easily go back and forth between your room and the pool area and food. This is especially good if you have kids with you and they forget things or want to change etc. After midnight, it is basically quiet. Before midnight, you can hear some noise but nothing that irritated us. Balcony's are great, especially when you keep the door open at night and can listen to the water. Would suggest more hangers in the closets
