This is the second time was have cruised on the Fascination, last was December 2009 for a family Christmas Cruise and our fourth cruise on Carnival. The recent refurbishments are nice. Loved the new palm trees, umbrellas and tiki bar atmosphere.
Overall we were horrified at the children and young people running riot all over the ship. No manners; no excuse me as they would push past you on the stairs, as they tripped over your chair on the lido deck, as they pushed past you to cut in line for the pizza and ice cream. Spring Break does not mean you don't have to parent your children. Assuming of course that these children and their parents have any manners when they are at home. Yes, we knew it was Spring Break but we had lots of children on board for our cruise in Dec 09 and they were all well behaved. Adults were rude as well. By the last sea day you could tell the staff were just fed up. No please, no thank you. Just plain rude!! We even encountered young people in the cigar bar smoking cigarettes, one who was bold enough to ask my husband for a puff of his Cuban. Needless to say we were ready to get off the boat, good thing we were on Rivera deck; off and in the car by 8:15.
I can't say we would not sail with Carnival again. It is too easy for us as we can drive and not have to worry with airplanes and taxis etc. Due to the nature of our business we can only travel in April and October. So you can guess which month we will be cruising next time.
