Our first time on Carnival and we returned today. The cruise was ok. The pride seems dated and very dark. We did not like the decor at all and found the David and the nude women to be unnecessary on a family trip with young children. However, the food was very good and the dining staff awesome, especially our waiter Valirey from Ukraine! He was terrific, as was our cabin steward Marlon (called himself Marlon Brando :)) The service was so nice and we felt spoiled. The trip which started with the first two and half days at sea, was a little rough on all. Being at seas that long was not easy. The ship seemed SOOOO crowded, there were lines to get a drink, food and even the bathroom and there was not enough to do to keep us occupied. The entertainment team tried very hard to please, but the actual singers on the ship were not very good, so the shows fell flat. There was lots of bingo, but not much else to do as a family. Kirk and Jamie, the cruise director and assistant were very up beat and kept people going. Too much smoke in the casino, when it is in the mid ship with no windows, should have kept smoking to outside. Also, except for the kids club, not enough for kids to do, especially when the weather is bad, which we had. Went on a tour of harbor and Atlantis in Nassau and we were so disappointed after paying $150 for us to go that it lasted about 30 minutes with a 5 minute boat tide (that we had to walk very far from the ship to pickup. Really not worth money, but the island is very pretty.
Overall, it was a relaxing trip, and the employees made it very bare-able. However, I don't think we will go on this again. I hear the other newer ships are much nicer, so we will see. Sorry to those who really like it, it just wasn't our cup of tea.
