We booked our Costa Atlantica Cruise late with guarantee and found ourselves upgraded from a small interior room to a spacious, beautiful balcony room with the delight of the ocean view.
We made arrangements for wheelchair accommodation on embarkation and we're very pleased with the efficient manor the very knowledgeable and courteous port employee whisked us through the process. He waited for our entire group and delivered us right to the buffet.
We have been on five cruises and found the ambiance on this ship to be vintage, but lovely and well maintained. Dinner in the dining room was very good with many selections to choose from and courteous service. The waitress and waiter were friendly and accommodating but often forgot to bring someone's course or mixed up the orders at the table. Their pleasant personalities more than made up for the oversights.
Unfortunately, the breakfast and lunch buffets did not meet our expectations. There was plenty of food and no one would be hungry. However, we found that most hot items were luke warm, bland or greasy. The breads and pastries seemed formerly frozen. There was always plenty of fruit, cold and hot cereals, Beverages were also plentiful and the servers were pleasant.
Entertainment was very good, We enjoyed the ship's dancers and singers very much and there was plenty to do throughout the day.
We will not go into great detail about out experience at Diamonds International but I have to acknowledge our poor experience with Di in Cosumel. We recommend reading reviews of Di before considering purchasing any jewelry from them.
For those going on upcoming cruises, Bon Voyage!!
