We flew into Barcelona a couple of days early to enjoy the city. By searching online, we were able to get a fantastic deal on the Hotel Montecarlo, number four of the Reader's choice hotels on the world from TripAdvisor. The voters were right! It was a fabulous hotel with the most helpful front desk staff (all men!) that we have ever had at any hotel. It was right on Las Ramblas. We took the airport bus to Placa Catalunya and walked about a block to the hotel. Barcelona was a lovely city and we enjoyed walking around looking at the wonderfully unique architecture.

We spent (Palm) Sunday watching the parade with the palms go by our hotel and visiting La Familla church. It was about 2:00 in the afternoon when we got to the ship. There was no line and processing was extremely quick and easy.

Our room was quite roomy with a huge bathroom. I don't know if that was because it was handicapped accessible. It was listed as obstructed view, but the view was only obstructed if we were looking down. The room, as well as the rest of the ship, was kept clean. Our room steward and his assistant were not seen often, but their presence was felt. Magically, the room was cleaned or beds turned down whenever we were out of the room.
