Sail Date: Mar 2010

My wife and I with another couple travelled from Australia for back to back cruises to the Bahamas & Cribbean on the 6th March, 2010. Boarding this lovely 2 year old ship was easy and fast so we were exploring its beauty quickly. However when it came to Disembarking by tender just over a week later it was a disaster and you would think they had never done it before. People ignoring the numbers issued just pushed in to corridors, lifts and stairs because nobody was there to check them and everything was choked due to no tenders waiting. Due to MSC policy of "Children under 18 Go Free" our 2nd week was a nightmare as it co incided with the USA spring break. This ship takes some 3000 passengers and a crew member told us that there were over 800 kids on board. They virtually took over the ship running up and down lifts/stairs day and night, playing on the stage in the theater before evening shows, sitting/blocking access to the dance floor in the Zebra lounge every night, occupying the spas, pool & outdoor games all the time, and making prank phone calls (to our friends) late at night, plus more with no parental or ship crew control. Smoking was another problem with it being permitted in a lovely big lounge at the rear of the ship as well as half of another in the middle, so as non smokers we could't go there. Ridiculous when smokers have a cigar lounge inside and can go outside to puff away. We ( and many others) objected to and Didn't pay all the requested US$12 each per day tips. The service at evening Dining was poor and waiters did't even come back to pour our wine. The food was boring especially as we had the same menu week 2 as week 1. On a positive note the people looking after our cabin were just fantastic and the only ones deserving a tip.

Cabin Review

Our cabin was inside on Deck 9 about the middle of the ship. It was very comfortable, and quiet but limited hanging and storage space but with a bit of jiggling our big bags went under our bed. Fridge was good but safe had a mind of its own. Good bathroom. Cabin attendants were excellent.
