Dream over spring break 2010. 5th cruise, 1st with carnival. Pro's: dream got you on and off fast. for the amount of people on the ship, nice and easy. Our cabin steward was friendly. Food was okay, the wok area was super, hot food. My teenage daughter met some great teens, and claimed of all the cruises, this was the best for teen activities. Megan in club O2 was great. Hip Hop classes in the afternoon. Cons: Daughter only used the slides a couple of times, said it was to windy on the top, and you really had to hang on when climbing up. the wait after boarding to get into your cabin, carnival locks down the elevators, use of stairs only. They unlocked the elevators at 5 pm, and again the last night locked at 9 pm to move luggage. The usual lounge chair hogs, who put their towel at 8 am and don't show until 1 pm. The encore shows were good,,but you had to arrive 45 minutes early to even get a chair, even through the announcement was played over and over"no saving of seats, a saved seat is when someone is sitting in it". Lines everywhere, seemed to be under staffed. Watched the same crew members walk past a stack of dirty dishes on a outside table for over 2 hours and no one stopped to clear it. (when tables in outside areas and food court were cleared, saw no one wipe the table)It seemed that the crew was told to really sell the drinks, more so then our other cruises. Before we left for this cruise, read the reviews about the sewage smell, and thought oh, it can't be that bad, well it was. Smelled in the halls and even up on deck. The ship has a serious rocking problem, even in calm water, it was felt everywhere, people commented on it continually. Several crew members stated that it had a stabilization problem, and carnival was aware, but unable to fix. Someone else stated 8-12 year olds running and screamming in halls until 2 am. This was true, not a carnival problem, just rude parents, unable to make them mind. The ports were great, did our own thing, hired taxis, beach time, shopping ect. We really are easy going people, do our own thing, don't ask extra of our cabin steward. After this trip on Carnival Dream, have decided the 2 other cruise lines we have been on, will get our business. The Dream,to big, to many people.
