This was our worst cruise to date. Being a platinum member of Princess I expect better. A completely different experience then our November cruise on the Crown. [[The] Captain is new to the Crown and from what I gathered the crew is not very fond of him. He can come on the ship's intercom and crack joke after joke however he needs to do a better job at running the ship. Where do I start: Nine hundred kids running amok all hours of the day and night. Running down the hallways and on the outside decks very late at night with no supervision from ship staff at all!!! Deck chairs on sea days, maybe at 7:30am but nothing left later in the day. We are anytime diners. After boarding we went to the Botticelli dinning room to make a reservation for Sat. evening. We were told by an extremely rude hostess, we could not do this in person and would have to call. There was a house phone two feet from her podium. We picked up the phone, were put on hold for ten minutes (while watching her do nothing) and when we finally got through she laughed as though it was some kind of a joke. Entertainment was by far the worst we have experienced on a Princess ship. One comedian for an hour during the entire week. One hypnotist show, the singers and dancers and that was it. This was all due to captain's decision that it was too windy to leave Roatan for Cozumel. So we spent the night in Roatan, never made Cozumel, had an extra sea day and had no new entertainment. Why spend over sixty million dollars to build Mahogany Bay in Roatan and leave such a narrow channel that ships cannot leave when winds exceed 25 knots. The new Carnival Dream was docked behind us and they could not get out so they also spent the night docked in Roatan. Lots of angry people on board after being informed we would not go to Cozumel however this issue was never addressed by the captain. Food was typical Princess fare. We went to the Crown Grill for Easter diner and that was great!! To make matters worse, there was a major leak on the ship when we docked back in Ft Lauderdale. All mid ship elevators were down and they turned off all the water on Aloha deck. They never bothered to inform passengers that the water would be turned off. Disembarkation was the worst. Too many color groups called at once therefore long lines at customs. The night before the cruise I called Princess after reading on the Port Everglades web site that the Crown would be docked a berth 21 instead of the usual berth 2. I was informed this was an error and we would be at berth 2. Upon arrival the crown was indeed at berth 21. However, at the end of the cruise the Crown went to berth 2 so all the folks that parked their cars in the mid port parking were now far away from their cars. I'm glad I wasn't one of them. They apparently were shuttled to their cars. Will I cruise Princess again, yes.
