Hi, I just got back from the Mediterranean. Brilliance of the Seas was a fantastic ship. The service for the most part was excellent, however we did run into a few problems. We unfortunately had an extremely foul smell in our bathroom that lasted for eight days. We contacted maintenance who kept saying they were sending the plumber and finally I marched myself down to guest relations at one in the morning and insisted a plumber come immediately since it was impossible to sleep in such conditions. Eventually it worked out and the smell went away. However now I have to chase Royal Caribbean at home to try to get some sort of compensation for eight days that nothing was done.
Besides this unfortunate occurrence, the ship was great, food outstanding, and on the whole staff were organized, and very professional. The places we saw were unbelievable and just beautiful. The ship was very clean and Chops Grille is a must! A real dining experience. The whirl pool was not hot enough for me but the area was just beautiful. Entertainment was first class.
I am happy that I went on a Royal Caribbean Cruise. I do hope that we get some answers about our dilemma and that the problem gets rectified. I do however feel that the staff should have addressed the problem immediately and compensated me while I was on the ship because now I think there will be too much red tape and balcony that I will have to deal with such as calling people and them not replying back to me.
