We thought we would give a different cruise line a try and see what the differences may be. Previously, we have cruised with all the large "American" lines so we felt we had a good basis for comparison.
Embarkation was great, the ship beautiful and cabins satisfactory. Service in the dining area was better than some lines but the food quality was sub-par.
Room steward and other staff were very good, buffet tables cleaned almost immediately.
We did not go to Playa del Carmen, as anyone reading CC knows, but the ship insisted on continuing the charade by even giving out tender tickets the night before, but of course we went to Cozumel.
Unfortunately we missed Grand Cayman due to rough seas.
Port times were short, and due to the time change and Cozumel/Playa question I recommend you take the ships excursions on this cruise, and we normally book independent.
Drinks and Internet time were fairly priced.
Debarkation was quick and efficient, and our on board account was correctly billed.
We gave this cruise a B-, with deductions for quality of food, port times and closing the pool early, all matters that can be easily resolved by MSC.
