We really enjoyed our cruise and the cruising experience, however, next time I think we'll choose a different cruise line. The Carnival atmosphere on the ship just wasn't for us. The ship was serviceable and definitely showing her age, but that had very little impact on our vacation. We loved the idea of someone else doing all the driving as we traveled for our vacation. The itinerary was great and the main reason for us choosing this cruise.

I have to admit I was a little worried after reading the previous reviews about the Destiny and receiving a letter in our stateroom on the first night about a mechanical issue. Apparently one of the bow thrusters was worked on in Miami prior to leaving and they had to stop the ship twice to "calibrate" the thruster during our cruise. Also, when we were at Jack's Shack in Grand Turk I overheard one of the crew members saying they wouldn't be surprised if the ship was back in dry dock again soon. They didn't elaborate. Oh, the sewage smell was present on decks 3 and 4 midway on the starboard side. Not a big deal but others have mentioned it and we noticed it as well...while standing in line and the Purser's Desk.

The shows were very cheesy, not something we enjoyed and tried to avoid after the first night. Overall the entertainment on the ship wasn't to our interest. The food was average, although we did have a meal or two that was very good. Our stateroom, an aft extended balcony, was great as was our room steward, Eva.
