I could hardly wait to get this interview typed, especially after reading the post below mine which gave Mariner only one star, I don't know what cruise ship this person was on, but it sure couldn't have been Mariner. I find it amazing that a person couldn't find one thing good about this ship!!! Our Mariner voyage was by FAR the one of the best cruises we have EVER taken and we have cruised over 40 times. The only possible complaint I could make would be that the food was good, but not outstanding which I can understand, RCI is not exactly known for its food and that is acceptable to my family and I. We choose cruise lines on other factors such as service, ship amenities and entertainment. On these factors, RCI is beyond all of our expectations. As stated, we have cruised many times including other ships such as Brilliance, Legend, Explorer and RCI shows total consistency in those matters that are important to us. Embarkation was smooth and uneventful, RCI has a great system for embarkation and the lines go very quickly. Great job there for such a huge ship.

Accommodations: Our room was outstanding, we had 6500 which is at the very front of the ship overlooking the helo pad. The room had two huge portholes and was VERY large and comfortable. Our room steward Kermen was excellent and attended to our needs with a constant smile on his face and was always ready with a joke or two. (BTW, he changed our sheets 3 times during the 9 day cruise)See Deb's posting below.

Mariner: The ship is absolutely stunning, the decor is tasteful, the public rooms inviting and well laid out. It is LARGE though and I would suggest getting a room in the middle unless you like walking alot. No problems with the elevators, maybe because we didn't have a zillion kids on the ship. Those children who were on were very well behaved. The gym on the ship has the best equipment and is well laid out.
