Pre-Cruise - We had to take an alternative form of transportation to Ft. Lauderdale due to a snow storm. We opted for Amtrak and took a 29 hr train ride from Philadelphia to Florida. It was fun. We were very relaxed when we arrived. We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Ft. Lauderdale which was OK except for the couple of ants in our bathroom. The next morning we took the free shuttle to the cruiseport. We were on the ship 30 minutes later. It was a very easy process.

We were greeted with champagne and had some time to explore the ship. We were totally in awe of how beautiful everything was. We had a nice lunch at the at the Mast Bar in the pool area. Around 1pm they announced our cabins were ready. We were anxious to see our cabin. We were very pleased with how roomy it was. We were a little concerned how we would fit all of the clothes we brought with us but we had no problems at all. The empty luggage fit fine under the bed. We chose Concierge Class and were very pleased with the little extras (champagne in the room, fresh fruit, afternoon canapes just to mention a few). We loved having a veranda. We ate breakfast on it as we had breakfast delivered to our room most mornings. We initially had the late seating for dinner. It was too late so the next day we requested the early seating and they were all too happy to accommodate us.

The service we had on the ship was like nothing we had ever experienced before. We have vacationed in many 5-star hotels before but this was far above that. Our cabin steward was amazing, very accommodating in every way. The entire staff of the ship was fantastic. We only had 1 problem and that was with the ship doctor who I had to visit. He was arrogant and condescending and did not treat me for the ailment I came to see him for.
