This was our third cruise and the first timers to Carnival. And, after reading lots of reviews for the past fourth months or so, we were just a little concerned that may be the Carnival experience might be a little too much of a "party boat". I can tell you we had a really great time and the spring breakers were not much of a real concern.

Embarkation went quickly as we were among the last to arrive from Miami Airport--that place is a mess at spring break and we will not travel to South Florida during spring break in the future. On board, by 3PM, met our friends from New Jersey and had only a few minutes before the life boat drill--not carrying life jackets is a really good idea.

We found the breakfast buffet and particularly the fresh made omelets to our liking. We usually ate breakfast and lunch at the buffet--the "fish and chips" and pizza stops are musts. Diner was always in the Golden Room as part of the open dining arrangement instead of the scheduled setting. Super kudos to Robinson (Golden Room Team Waiter); we made it a point to ask for him during 5 of 7 nights. Just a super individual who clearly loves his job and enjoys taking care of his guest. Overall, we would rate the food as "excellent" but quite not "outstanding".
