Sail Date: Mar 2010

My girlfriend and I went on a 4-day cruise to Key West and Cozumel on the Destiny on March 18, 2010. This was my fifth cruise (second on Carnival) and my girlfriend's first one.

The cruise was just ok, not fantastic. The ship seemed overly crowded with long lines for food on the Lido deck and packed sunning areas. LOTS of roudy kids everywhere. The music/entertainment was very disappointing. It was mostly Broadway style singing and dancing, but lacked the sophistication I expected. It reminded me of high school performances. However, there was a salsa band in the Casino area that was really good. They should of had a spot in one of the lounges because it was a little awkward to dance in the traveled area where they were performing.

Meals in the dining room were generally very good and the servers very quick and attentive. We had early seating (6 pm) in the Universe dining area. We bought a bottle of wine that was $26, but lasted us the 3 evenings we ate there. Our server kindly saved it for us to use later.

Cabin Review

Our cabin was a balcony on the port side about mid-ship. It was 8180 on the verandah deck. I thought it was comfortable for the size. Storage was good. Everything worked as expected. We had some noisy kids in the hall right outside our cabin at all hours of the day and night which was really annoying. The balcony was nice, I will definitely get a balcony next time.
