Charlotte Amalie in St. Thomas is about the same as always, a bit older, crowded, the usual shopping for jewelery, electronics, perfumes, and liquor. Snorkled here and it was nicely done with lots of critters to see. Lots of cabs to get one from and to the ship for about $4.00 each way. 


St. Thomas

Philipsburg is prettier than Charlotte Amalie. Otherwise, the same opportunities to spend money. Water taxi from the dock area to town at $6.00 for all day back and forth. $4.00 one way. Regular taxis also for ??. It's a long walk otherwise. 


St. Maarten

The island and town itself are fine British locales with the usual shopping, eating, and recreational opportunities. However, to leave the dock area and get into town or elsewhere, one must funnel through a building which is basically a straw market. With four or five ships docked at once, the crowd crush is very unpleasant. It gets worse closer to sailing time when everyone needs to get back to their respective ship at the same time. There is a security check inside, and it gets quite backed up. Lunch for four at the Iguana on the main drag runs around $70. Good food though. 


Nassau

Our cabin, category D, midships deck 7 was fine. A bit tight, but that was expected. Nice balcony with connection to adjoining balcony at our request. Nice bed, sofa, storage is tricky, lots of little places, one of which we didn't discover until the cruise was done. Bathroom small, but quite adequate, closet space a little unhandy to reach due to the bed. Quiet location. Good cabin steward.

The cabin flat screen TVs are also good for finding out activities currently offered, what eating venues are busy or not, your shipboard account, Internet, and the bridge camera.Wine by the glass is quite pricey also, about twice what we would pay at a good restaurant at home.
