We sailed on the Dawn on March 12, 2010 out of Miami. We flew into Ft. Lauderdale on Thursday and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. On Friday morning easy express picked us up and took us to the port of Miami. If you are looking for a shuttle service to Miami check out easyexpress.com for a good price. We were very happy with the service. We arrived at the port around 12:30 Friday morning. We walked in and only had to wait about 5 minutes to get checked in. We are NCL Latitudes members so we get to go through that line. They were doing a good job of moving people through the lines. We went to the ship and were very excited to see how big it is. She is a beautiful ship. Our room was not ready so we went to the Venetian dining room and had lunch. Lunch was really good and the staff in the dining hall were very friendly. By the time we finished lunch our cabin was ready so we went to check it out. Our room stewards were in the hall and greeted us by name as we opened the door. Marlen and Menard were very good room stewards and we enjoyed speaking with them every day. The room was very clean and stayed that way all week. We were impressed. We then decided to take a stroll around the ship and figure out where things were located.

The spa offers a relaxation area for $189.00 per couple for the cruise. It has a lap pool, regular hot tub, reclining hot tub, quiet room, lounge chairs along a row of windows, steam room, sauna, showers, water, juice and tea. I probably forgot something but for the most part that is everything. We decided to pay the 189.00 and have use of the relaxation spa for the week. For us the money was very well spent. We are not sun worshipers so being able to be in the pool and hot tubs without sunscreen or worrying about burning was great. Most days we had the lap pool to ourselves for at least 20 minutes before anyone else showed up. The area was never very crowded and it was very relaxing. If you like lying in the sun this may not be for you. It is a lot of money, but since we spend money on very little on the ship it fit our budget.

Okay, Patti and Jose are a must see on the ship. They are in Dazzles most nights and as the cruise goes on and people find them it is harder and harder to get a seat. We caught their act almost every night. We also enjoyed the piano player Kiti. I can't remember her last name. She was good. The band Rhythm and Harmony are also good. We saw Bollywood in the Stardust and enjoyed it. Dave Hennen was also very funny. The magician was pretty good too. They were all in the Stardust. We did not see any other shows. Oh, do not miss the crew talent show in the Stardust. It was great. I think we enjoyed that more than anything else. We went to karaoke most nights at the Pearly King Pub. We had a great time with several others singing at night.

Cabin OB

Cabin location was great. We were close to the elevators and stairs. We were also one floor down from the Aqua dining hall so we had easy access to it. We did not feel much motion of the ship. The bed was a little hard. We had plenty of storage space for our things. The bathroom has a separate toilet, sink and shower area. They are all separated by glass doors.
