We are frequent cruisers with 25 past cruises and 3 more currently booked. I'm not happy if I don't have a future cruise or two on the horizon! We prefer Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and Princess (in that order).
We always fly to Ft. Lauderdale the day prior to the cruise and stay at the Bahia Mar Resort on the beach. The morning of the cruise, the girlfriends do a little power walk down the beach a few blocks to the Ritz Carlton hotel to have coffee and beignets on their beautiful beachfront patio - a perfect way to start our vacation.
Since this trip is all about relaxation, we weren't in a huge hurry to try to board the ship early and then stand in line and gripe about it. We arrived at the port around 1:30pm and walked right on - no line whatsoever. Then came the lovely welcoming glass of champagne and smiling faces of the helpful crew. We had an inside cabin on this cruise due to maximizing our cruise dollars - 4 cruises in 12 months can get a little spendy. The cabin was spotless and the best thing was the bathroom - it had ample storage and was large by cruise bathroom standards. The shower doors were nice to have instead of the old friendly shower curtain. The bedroom part of the cabin had the standard safe and small refrigerator, however, as mentioned in previous reviews, storage was severely lacking.
