Arrived at the port by 12:30 and were on board in a matter of minutes. Our room was ready at 1:45, VA balcony room on the port side, 8 floor. Even though we were right behind the elevators we were never bothered by any noise. If anything we were located under the buffet which got a bit noisy in the early morning but it was manageable.
We enjoyed breakfast in our room every morning and it was always on-time but not always warm, a couple of days items we requested were left off. Food in the main buffet restaurant was fair to good, always a generous selection. We only ate in the main restaurant once for dinner and service was SLOW, I mean our finished dinner plates sat in front of us for 20 minutes before being asked if we wanted coffee, and then that took another 15 minutes to get. They did send us some chocolate covered strawberries for our trouble the next day.
We had dinner once in the Tamarind and three nights in the Pinnacle grill. The food and service was exemplary, well worth the extra fee. Only one night we tried to get into the Grill without reservations and were told not till 9 pm even thought the restaurant was not even half full.
My biggest beef was the hot tubs on board, the two on the stern never got the jets working so it was just a hot water tub, no bubbles.
The ship is on the small side, so if you get seasick use caution. It just seemed to roll more than the NCL Jewel did. The casino, where we spent way too much time, is small and they don't always have the game you want to play open but they did accommodate me one night by closing the let-it-ride game and opened up Caribbean stud.
The room stewards did a great job of keeping the room ready for us. We went to a couple of the shows and they were OK, but I must say the magic act was phenomenal, I mean he lives on a ship with his wife, two young kids, two dogs and a few birds. Now that's a magic act. But seriously his illusions were outstanding!!!
All in all we would probably take another Holland America cruise in the future.
