After reading all the bad reviews we were dreading going on our half term break.
We had a great flight, really good embarkation and sailaway party on deck. 2nd day in Gran Canaria was sunny and we were lucky enough to be there for the carnival. We watched over 35 floats and they were still coming and saw I am sure thousands of people in fancy dress all enjoying themselves and a fantastic atmosphere.
From then on the weather was very windy and we turned into nomads of the sea. Couldn't go to La Palma due to the weather, had an extra day at sea then on to Madeira which was beautiful. If you are doing your own thing take the yellow open top bus as this gives you access to the local buses (to go up to Mont) and an extra tour loop.
We were on our way to Morocco when the Harbour master closed it so off we went again. We had to leave Lanzarote early due to the weather and that night it was F10/11 - really scary noises at 3 a.m. in the morning but still make breakfast in the morning!
Entertainment on board was excellent. The whole team were professional and it was great to see such talent. The cabin was - as others have said - tired but really clean and our steward was fantastic. We were really impressed by the hygiene on board and that staff were positioned next to the sanitisers to gently remind anyone who "forgot" to use them.
Food was vary varied and I am sure that even the most fussy of eaters would find something to suit every evening. It was replenished frequently and always served hot. Omelettes in the morning took some time but were worth the wait. For those who like a full cooked breakfast bacon was not served every morning.
Drinks were not too expensive considering they have a captive audience and it was lovely to be able to get draught cider on a ship for once. We were not AI so I don't know if this would be covered if we were.
All in all despite the weather we had a lovely relaxing cruise and yes we would sail on this ship again.
