I have sat back and only read Cruise Critics for the past 3 to 4 years now and I finally thought it was about time to post a review myself. I have just finished a back-to-back on Serenade of the Seas. Despite the many criticisms I have read about RCI and the ship, I can truly say it was one of the best experiences of my life. This was our 6th & 7th cruises on board RCI ships.

We escaped the Washington DC area just before the record setting snowfall on 5 Feb. My wife and I always fly out the day before the cruise. I found the San Juan airport to be very efficient. I was happy to take the extra time departing the terminal as American Airlines' employees check everyone's luggage tags against the receipts they were holding. A few extra minutes at the airports prevents either the accidental or malicious taking of another person's suitcases.

We took a taxi to the Carib Hilton. The price was preset and told to us before we entered the taxi. The room at the Hilton was average but their pool facilities and small beach area were exceptional. They also had a nice sports bar where we had an enjoyable dinner.
