The ship is a nightmare. The cruise was advertised as a new ship but turned out to be refurbished ship. The room we had was small and cramped. It was in the stern on the 8th deck. The hallway smelled in this area for some reason unknown. The smell was similar to a sewer break or perhaps just the old smell of an older boat. When we sat down on the bed it was as hard and uncomfortable as a rock. We spent the afternoon in Sears in Honolulu buying an air mattress which saved my back.

The service was nonexistent. They had a relatively new concept where there were no seatings for dinner. You simply had to show up for dinner at either of the two dining rooms. The problem was that they could not seat anyone. You had to line up at 5 to get a seating at 6 or wait until 9 or 10 to get dinner. Once seated it took an average of 2 hours to get service. The menu did not change except for one dish each night. You had the same appetizers every night and the same deserts.

The service was a joke. One night my wife and I were seated next to a preparation area where the waiters would prepare the food brought up from the kitchen. We overheard one waiter tell another that he had no clue as to what he was doing. His last job was in fast food store on one of the islands. The ultimate insult came the last day of the cruise when they charged our account for a service fee (they told us it was not a gratuity) amounting to 20 per day. No matter what they say it was a gratuity for service never received. They did discount this to 10 per day for two people.
