Who: Group of five couples, two singles, and 12 kids ranging from 3 to 15 years old. Reviewer includes husband, wife, and 2 kids.

Arrival: We drove to Cape Canaveral and stayed at the Radisson at the Port, which, as advertised, is the closest motel to the port. The Radisson has been nicely updated and their port transportation service worked great. Basically, you can pay the Port $70 for parking if you drive to the Port ($10 per day) or park at the Radisson for free for the week while you're away, as long as you stay the night before or after your cruise. We took the 11:30 shuttle to the ship. The Radisson, by the way, had a great pool and a very good pool/bar side guitarist the night we were there. You might get a discount if you ask for the Florida rate. You can book the shuttle at the time of your reservation - we chose 11:30 which worked very well. Might do 11:00 if we had to do it again just to get there even earlier.

Embarkation: Getting off the shuttle, we were basically told by a porter to tip him and the bags would be handled from there. We did and they were. The entry line was not too long at this point. By the end of the process, we could look back and see that it had grown substantially. The first teller reviews your fun pass and documentation. Even though the fun pass process suggests that you don't need the pre-printed tickets, it makes the process faster if you have them, and you get a mild scolding if you do not. The second stop is for your Sun and Sail cards, through which everything is charged while on board (mostly) and also unlocks your cabin door. There is the typical metal detector, a couple of escalators, and soon you're having your face photographed as you walk on board the Glory. Having left the motel at 11:30, we were on board by 12:15. As others have noted, they ask that you not visit your room until at least 1:00 to allow time for cleaning.
