Having read the previous 2 reviews for this cruise, I really felt I needed to comment as well. Since I walked away w/ mixed feelings regarding Carnival, maybe I can say " The good, the bad and the ugly" The Good About BrightStar, That passenger was disembarked in Grand Cayman, and was not onboard during the whole cruise, this I know for certain. But most importantly Kudos to the ship's medical team who worked a miracle that day. Our Cabin Steward Juan Feldman, Who was so sweet, kind & wonderful @ his job, We just can't say enough good things about him "KT" Our dining room waiter- Fabulous!!! I agree that Carnival did everything in their power to assist us w/ new travel arrangements & were very generous w/ hotels, transportation & food vouchers. Our Cabin was great, and before the propulsion issue, I would have definately cruised Carnival again, but I think they put passenger safety @ risk, by sending that ship back out on 2/14.
The BAD Cold food every morning @ the breakfast buffet, so cold, that butter wouldn't even melt on the pancakes or french toast.
The Ugly I really can't believe that w/ that ship's issues ( propulsion) they had the audacity to return that ship to sea that night. Just read that they missed Grand Cayman completely, due to propulsion issues, no surprise there! I really can't believe that Carnival was so foolhardy and cavalier with their passengers safety. We all knew there were problems, but I'm betting those new passengers didn't. How do you take 2,000 passenger out on a ship w/ 1 engine? Based on that, I don't think I will cruise Carnival again, because apparently the $$$ were more important than the passengers. Scary!
We had one of the mini-suites on Deck 7, it was beautiful, roomy, and with an extended balcony. We really thought we got great value for our dollar w/ this cabin, and again I can't say enough about our cabin steward Juan Feldman & his sidekick
