I've cruised a lot - about 30 cruises - all over. I will not cruise out of Galveston again in February. It's just too cold! It was 36 degrees and raining/snowing when we got on board for our Caribbean cruise. Both days at sea it was too cold to get in the pools. We all huddled outside under towels and coats. Even Cozumel was chilly. I had been there in December and it was nice & warm, but not in February.

So, if you're going for warm weather and to get away from winter, don't go out of Galveston. Go to Miami.....

Other than the weather, the ship and crew were wonderful. We were traveling with 3 small children (2, 5 & 6). The crew could not have been better. My daughters were first time cruisers. They said the crew made them feel so accepted that they actually relaxed and enjoyed themselves. The kids jumped around at the dinner table, dropped glasses that broke, and had to be served immediately to keep them quiet and happy. The crew members took note of what needed to be done and were right there the minute we sat down with their favorite foods and drinks. Special orders? No problem. They appeared within minutes. They were just wonderful! Sometimes with kids you feel out of place and as if you're a bother. Not so on Esctasy. The waiters even danced with the kids in the isles and looked for us at breakfast each morning just to say hello to the kids. It was really nice.

Cabin Review

Cabin m

The location was fine. I like being lower in the ship. Since you're closer to the water and docks it's easier to see what's going on. The layout of beds around the edges of the room created a large dead spot in one corner. Since room is such a preminium, it's a shame the beds can't be arranged in a different fashion to allow that space to be utilized. We kept bumping our heads on the bunkbeds that let down from the wall. Almost impossible to move around the beds on the floor without hitting them. There were no refrigerators or blow dryers in the rooms, but were provided them upon request. I like the fact that they give you samples (shampoo, toothpaste, etc.). Wish all the cruise lines did. Bathroom fixtures were new & nice. Floor was blue plastic. Rim on the shower was tall enough to keep the water in the shower instead of all over the floor like many ship bathrooms.
