The Summit is a very classy ship with extremely attentive staff. the main dining room had excellent food with top shelf wait staff. this ship is great for couples, not so for kids or singles. i was a single but still had fun. not many other singles at all. the mix and mingle for singles was empty except for me haha but i still had a blast. very well run ship. i'm not a big fan of having to get back to the ship at the end of the day, it would be cool to stay 2 nights at a selected port. a young american woman was killed/murdered in antigua, i believe the day before we got there. we were not warned about it and should have been if it truly was the day before.

overall, i'd recommend the summit for couples, not for kids or singles. the ports were great though with really good transport at most, although i almost got left in st. thomas (which i wont go back to st. thomas b/c too commercial). i'd recommend st. kitts for a truly wonderful island visit or st. croix too. st lucia was kinda dirty and a bit scary at times, but i did have a lot of fun on an excursion to the pitons. antigua was very beautiful but not with the diversity of st kitts. antigua has had four major murders of tourists in the last 2 years. antigua had the best beaches, but its hard to match st. kitts. i'd sail on the summit again but would definitely take a loved one or a date. if you sail on the summit, have breakfast on the aft deck, catch the classical music duo before and after dinner at the coffee cafe. order a ny strip late, it doesnt add anything to the cost ie room service.

Cabin review:

inside stateroom. pretty small for two people. but was fine for me. i loved the darkness of it for taking a nap after being on shore all day. great cabin service / steward.

Port and Shore Excursions

go to long bay. be very careful at the beaches, dont stray. a young woman was murdered at pigeon point beach the day before we got there. for a fun day, find charles and hire him for 80 bucks to drive you around all day. he got a bit pissy but i picked up some more people. go to turners beach, probably better than long bay. see english harbour. go to devils bridge and the sugar plantation windmills, charles knows where they are.

very beautiful. christiansted is a must-see. have the lobster salad sandwhich at the first little cafe on the boarwalk facing the bay. the lobster is caught fresh each day. take the ferry across to the hotel beach, like 2 bucks. get some cruzan rum, in a pina colada, at the beach bar, from sam i believe his name is. it is awesome rum. DONT, DONT miss your taxi back or drink too much rum, leaving yourself with only 10 bucks to get back. i did this and it was very very scary. i came within minutes of missing the boat. i truly almost missed the boat. its 24 to get back to the boat as a single. they told me 6. snorkeling was ok, not great. but gosh the view of the mtns from the sea was incredible.

very beautiful. go to cockleshell beach. just catch a taxi/bus at the local tourist shop just inside the port gates, to the left. $15 or so roundtrip. get an aloe massage. drink the local beer. if you can, go over to nevis, which i didnt get a chance to do.

hire pursuit tours. 60 bucks all day. fast boat. new boat. great rum. land/sea adventure. guides are cool. drive in volcano is ok, but not really worth it. get under the waterfall at the volcano. good snorkeling. be careful if you swim thru the cave near the volcano, the tide came in and several of us got injured. still had a lot of fun though. one guy got run over by a boat too.
