We were a party of 40 Danish holiday makers getting away from the cold winter weather. Joined the ship on the 30th Jan, after a long trip from Copenhagen via Newark to Miami and an overnight stay at an excellent hotel in Miami. After a short sightseeing bus trip around Miami we had a very quick check-in to the boat, and I was looking forward to my free glass of champagne, which I had read about in previous reviews. Sure enough the first people we met on the boat were serving a colourful drink, but we quickly observed that this had to be paid for on our key card which we had just collected. The cabin (stateroom) was very comfortable, our bed was a queen but I asked the steward to separate the beds which gave us much more room.We also asked him to empty our minibar so we could use the fridge for our own drinks. The beds were very comfortable, and the was plenty of room for our clothes. We found the food excellent and there was almost always seats for breakfast at the Great Outdoors, which is at the aft of the ship on deck 12. We were also lucky to be sitting there one morning when someone saw a whale not more than 50 m. from the ship and everyone dashed to the rails. I later heard that those who had been on the whale watching tour didn't see a single whale. We didn´t go ashore at Samana instead we spent an enjoyable day at the pool and some time at the South Pacific Spa and Fitness center for which we had purchased a weeks pass, this was the best money we spent on the cruise. The excellent shows at the Stardust theatre were sometimes spoiled by the excessive sound volume. My wife had to leave the theatre once due to the discomfort. We thought some of the tours were overpriced, especially the behind the scenes tour of the ship which cost $55 which due to security did not include a visit to the engine room or the bridge. Everyone is very friendly on the boat and we did not find them to be pushy with the drinks although you never had to look very far if you were thirsty, or hungry. The private island was beautiful and everyone recommended the snorkeling. The transfer to and from the island on the tenders went very smoothly, as it did on the other stops. Altogether a fantastic tour which we love to repeat next year if it wasn't for the long flight from Denmark.
