Hotel - we stayed at the Holiday Inn right across the street from the dock. They picked us up at the airport and we walked to the dock in the morning. Pretty convenient. The hotel is old and shows it, but great location.
Ship - very nice ship accomodations. Lots of smaller public areas and none of them were ever crowded. Made you feel like the ship was not full.
Activities - plenty of activities going on to keep you busy all day long. Lots of fun, especially the horse races. Only comment was that the ACD (Wheezie) had an attitude toward guests on the first day and it carried thru the entire cruise. The CD (Stu) has lots of energy and was all over the ship attending many activities. Near the end of the cruise he pleaded for everyone to mark their cruise survey with exceeding expectations. Must have had some bad reviews recently.
Stateroom - our room was up to par with any other cruise ships we have been on. The room steward, however, was no where to be found. We finally met him on the 4th day when we went up to him in the hallway and talked to him. The assistant room steward was always around and very helpful. In our minds he should have been the room steward and we tipped him extra for his service. We ordered room service for breakfast on the second morning. Breakfast never came so we went to the buffet to eat. We asked one of the room stewards on the hall about room service and he said they routinely are 1/2 hour to hour late.
Dining - the breakfast buffet was good and fast. I would not recommend the formal breakfast. Food was pre-cooked and service was very slow and made several mistakes. The pancakes I had were so hard I literally, could not cut thru them with a knife. The eggs benedict were cold. Others on the cruise had similiar experiences. Dinner was Awesome. Excellent waiters (Ronaldo and Jose) and excellent food. And an added treat, after dinner the waiters and some of the guests did a fun dance in the aisles. Lots of fun! Children's Clubs - we don't have children, but the childrens activities must have been good, because the kids were always busy and having fun. Entertainment - excellent singers, all had great voices. The shows were fun to watch and entertaining. Better than average.
Embarkation - was disorganized. When we finally got on the ship we had lunch and waited till our room was supposed to be ready, but the hall doors were locked because the rooms were not ready and we had to wait another hour before they were ready. Disembarkation went smoothly.
