Cabin: Concierge Class 2

Our overnight stay at the Ramada Ft. Lauderdale airport pre-cruise was the one negative of the vacation. It is rundown, in an undesirable area, and the staff unfriendly.

Ship itself was beautiful. Public areas, lounges/bars were impressive and in the latter case plentiful. Loved the Martini Bar with ice bar and showman bartender Rosa. Casino was also nice; although I didn't spend alot of time there. Fitness center had a decent selection of cardio and resistance equipment which I did use especially on sea days. We chose the Concierge class. Embarkation was a breeze. The cabin was roomy enough with a good sized balcony and adequate storage. With the balcony door closed, the room was fairly quiet. It was also in a good location being close but not too close to the aft elevators and stairs. Great interactive LCD TV, comfortable bed; though still don't know what was meant by the Pillow Menu which is supposed to be a perk of the Concierge class. Fresh fruit was delivered daily. Our stateroom attendant Lydia was wonderful servicing the room frequently replacing towels, etc. Shower was good sized and worked better than most hotel showers I've used ( great shower head and consistent water temp).

The staff in general was wonderful and helpful except for the RN at the Medical Center who seemed put out and ill tempered when my wife had to be seen for an eye inflammation. The doctor was caring and professional however which we appreciated as I am a physician and my wife a nurse.
