This was our second cruise on Celebrity. Both cruises have been during the first week of February which we find provides us the opportunity to escape the winter weather at home and provides perfect weather in the Caribbean. Due to winter storms, we had a bit of stress initially with flights being cancelled across them middle of the U.S. We finally managed to get a flight out a day earlier than planned even though we had to take a horrific flight plan to get there we did manage to arrive in San Juan on time. I strongly encourage you to arrive a day or two before your cruise and to obtain travel insurance when booking a cruise.

San Juan Airport is small so getting in and out of it is quite easy. You do need your luggage claim ticket to get out with your luggage. Be sure to hang on to your claim ticket.

San Juan Hotel: We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites and were very pleased with the hotel. The rooms were clean and decorated in Caribbean decor. We had two flat screen TVs, a refrigerator, microwave, they provided popcorn and coffee. The hotel pool was nice and had a grill and bar. You could hear the engines from the planes at the airport when near the pool. We did not hear them while in the room. The bedding was very comfortable and hotel staff very pleasant. The hotel is a short walk from the beach.
