Arrived the night before in Fort Lauderdale and stayed at a Hilton Homewood Suite near the airport. The next afternoon bordered the Crown Princess with priority status as we had, unexpectedly, been upgraded from a mini-suite to a suite! Obviously a nice surprise, of which we were notified a few days before sailing. No problem with luggage, and the cabin was very spacious and comfortable. Our stewart, Carlitos, was friendly, proved to be very attentive, and responded to all of our questions/requests. Had lunch at the Caribe buffet, behind the Horizon buffet. The Caribe is much less crowded and you can bring food to your table from either buffet.

This was our second Princess cruise, the first was two years ago to Alaska on the Star Princess. The Crown Princess is very similar to the Star, but newer, somewhat larger, but both are very attractive vessels. The Crown Princess is very clean, and kept that way, and the public rooms are well decorated. The Sky walk Bar, at the aft of the ship at the highest deck, is larger and more attractive on the Star, but that is a minor criticism.

We had traditional dining with Omar and Jose doing an excellent job of serving. The food selection lacked steak as an alternative selection (as was not the case on the Star), and the menu was heavy on fish and lamb. Overall, most of the meals were OK, with excellent appetizers and deserts. A night at the Crown Grill provided excellent rib-eye steaks, and was worth the extra cost.
